Football

We signed Kennedy for football aka soccer during the summer term. It took her a few minutes to warm up but so far she loves it! She did soccer in Chicago but it was more free play. This is pretty structured. Can't decide what to sign her up for in the fall!

Tea at the Orangery

July 15 2015

I have been wanting to go to tea since we moved! We finally made it to tea last week with my mom. We made reservations at The Orangery. It was so beautiful. Kennedy loved it because she had her pick of treats and snacks. Parker loved it because he kept talking and laughing to the table of ladies behind us. ;)

Victoria and Albert Museum

One of my favorite things about London is that a majority of the museums are free! (donation suggested) I love taking Kennedy and Parker and our visitors to the museums near our flat. There are three that are not too bad of a walk, especially because a majority of the walk is through Kensington Gardens! My favorite is the V&A. There isn't a lot inside to keep Kennedy's attention but the outside has a beautiful fountain. It is the perfect way to spend an afternoon!

Liverpool, The Lake District, and Oxford

July 11-13 2015

While my parents were visiting we spent a long weekend driving up to Liverpool and the Lake District. On our way back to London we stopped in Oxford. While we were in Liverpool we did a Beatles Tour (duh!) which was very interesting! It was fun to see the childhood homes of all the Beatles and learn a few more facts about them. Then we drove up to the Lake District. We had lunch in Windemere, which is the cutest little town! Then headed to the lake to just admire the beauty. I don't think I have been anywhere more beautiful and peaceful in my life! I could definitely spend a weekend away there. On our way back to London we stopped in Oxford. Oxford is a beautiful campus. We explored a few of the colleges and headed back home. It was such a fun weekend exploring England outside of London! We drove A LOT and the kids were such troopers. Thank goodness for iPads and snacks!

Belgium

While Grandma Bernie was in town we took the train into Belgium for the weekend. We arrived in Brussels on Friday night, drove up to Brugge for the day on Saturday and then spent Sunday exploring Brussels.  We LOVED Brugge. It was so beautiful and quaint.  I was glad that we stopped in Brussels but could have easily spent more time in Brugge and less in Brussels! There was some stuff outside of the city center of Brussels that we may have seen if we had a little more time.  Overall, we ate tons of chocolate, waffles and beer YUM :) The kids were such troopers. Saturday morning we drove up to Brugge (1.5 hours) and we drove back just before dinner so they were in their stroller basically all day! There was so much to look at so I think that kept them busy! So far we have been to Paris, Brussels, and Brugge!!
